30 June update

We went up Monday afternoon and had dinner at the cabin. It was incredible. It is so quiet - except for the birds, etc. I was surprised (given the amount of rain) that there was virtually no bugs. During the 2 hours that we were there 2 vehicles went by and (1) 4-wheeler (a neighbor I think) went by twice.

Tuesday we talked briefly with Scott, briefly as they were raising trusses. We changed our delivery of flooring and ceiling lumber till the 16th of July - lastima. They have had a lot of rain which has slowed them down. I will have more pictures after the 4th.

Finished a quilt today! The next quilt is going to be made of material from Guatemala!

We plan to see the cabin progress on Monday/Tuesday, and will take more pictures then.

Well the only news I have to report is that we have water (and less $). They 'fraced' the well and all was well with the well. I have made the first cabinet (sans drawer and door). This cabinet goes under the breakfast counter.

Deb and I are planning on going up on Monday afternoon to check out the progress. The place should be more or less framed. We need to go through to decide on light/switch placements so that we can talk to the electrician. I will take a boatload more pictures and yes Don, there will be more photos that include the 'foreman'.

Updates

Well my intention was to blog as construction was going on but sadly I haven't. I really don't know much yet but am meeting with Scott in a bit. We had well troubles, 170 feet of solid rock and no water. They went another 30 feet and were going to 'frac' the well. Ironically water stopped them from doing it last Monday. It was so wet they couldn't get up the hill to the cabin. We couldn't get water because of water....

hopefully we have water now.
